We’re delighted to welcome back award-winning composer and pianist Charlie Bates to Malvern College, following his highly successful performance here last year.
Charlie remains in high demand internationally as a composer, arranger, conductor, and performer, with recent collaborations including work with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the world-renowned NDR Big Band.
Charlie and his exceptional band will once again take to the stage with their distinctive blend of rich harmonies, bold improvisation, and genre-defying sound. Earlier in the day, Charlie will lead a workshop with our pupils – and in the evening, they’ll join him on stage. Expect thrilling performances from our jazz band and standout solos from talented Malvernians.
Inspired more by the intimate atmosphere of Ronnie Scott’s rather than the grandeur of the Albert Hall, the evening will be relaxed and cabaret-style, with a fantastic, welcoming vibe. Tickets include a welcome drink and food.
